Bipods are incredibly useful for a lot of purposes with your rifle. There are some obvious tactical military uses; but, for the average gunowner, bipods are a helpful tool while shooting at an outdoor range or for your longer hunting excursions. We’ve put together this review of the best picatinny rail bipods on the market, and we’ll let you know which we think is the best one for most buyers.
Bipods can be a tricky thing to buy online because these are one of the few shooting accessories that you can’t judge on price alone. There are, surprisingly, some great bargain buys that aren’t cheap in quality like the price tag may lead you to believe. One of the most important features to focus on with bipods is the materials they’re made of, instead of all the flashy features their sellers may try to throw at you. While most bipods are made with aluminum, there are many different grades. Some aluminum bipods may be great for literally any rifle you attach to it, and others may only work well with single sniper shots before a screw comes loose. Thankfully, we’ve sifted through all the lousy options online and put together only the best choices for our readers.
Materials – The Ohuhu Adjustable Handy Spring Return Rifle Bipod is an all black bipod constructed of high grade aluminum with steel internal parts. It has an anodized finish, and it is advertised as 100% rust proof. Each arm is capped with rubberized, gripping feet. The arms extend from the standard 6 inches to 9 inches, and they’re adjusted by a pair of thumb wheels that are easy to maneuver. There is a metal spring on each side for shock absorption, and the arms collapse together for easy transportation. The mounting system is upgradeable from a standard Picatinny mount to a swivel stud mount.
Performance – The Ohuhu Adjustable Handy Spring Return Rifle Bipod is one of the best picatinny rail bipods for buyers on a budget. While Ohuhu uses some language to make their product sound high grade, it’s really pretty standard. The expected aluminum and steel construction functions very well, but the price gives away the fact that you’re not getting the sturdiest build available on the market. We wouldn’t suggest treating this bipod like you’re the next Rambo, but it’s an ideal choice for sniping and hunting. The rust proof features are a great addition, as the metal springs and adjustment gears are fully exposed.
What we say – You can buy the Ohuhu Adjustable Handy Spring Return Rifle Bipod for a little under $25 online. If you’re on a tight budget, this is one of the best picatinny rail bipods you can buy for that kind of money.

Materials – The UTG Low-Profile Deluxe Universal Picatinny Bipod is made of aluminum construction with a steel combat stand in a black finish. It comes with a swivel stud mounting kit, which is easy to set up. The picatinny mount features the Dragon Claw clamp for simple attaching and quick detaching. Also featured is the Posi-Lock locking mechanism, which helps prevent tipping during use. The legs can extend from 9 inches to 11 inches, and are adjusted by a pair of knobs with textured surfaces. The steel stand is designed for panning forward during shooting, which can be reversed if needed. Of course, the UTG Low-Profile Deluxe Universal Picatinny Bipod is collapsible for transport.
Performance – The UTG Low-Profile Deluxe Universal Picatinny Bipod is another wallet friendly purchase, but it features quite a bit more than your standard bipod – even more than some of your pricier options. UTG, first of all, is a great company that we stand behind for tactical accessories, such as bipods. However, this model has the unique steel stand. The stand has curved feet, so you can tip your bipod forwards or backwards slightly as needed. This is also helpful with preventing unwanted tipping on your terrain. We do wish the bottom of the steel stand had a gripping material, because we can see this slipping a bit on a rocky ground. It’s very possible to create your own grip, however.
What we say – The UTG Low-Profile Deluxe Universal Picatinny Rail Bipod costs just under $30 online. This is another good option for buyers on a budget, and it comes with a lot of features you would expect to see on more expensive models.
- Steel stand for tilting
- Swivel mount
- 9-11 inch extension
- Lacking grips on bottom
- SHOOTING NEEDS and ACCESSORIES
Materials – The CVLIFE 6-9 Inches Tactical Rifle Bipod is another option made of the steel and aluminum combination construction. The aluminum is aircraft grade alloy 7075, and the entire bipod has a black, anodized finish. There is a quick detach swivel stud already in place on the bipod, and it comes with a picatinny adapter, which fits perfectly onto a rifle’s forearm. The legs extend from 6 inches to 9 inches with the press of a simple button on each side. There are also two shock absorption springs, and their tension can be adjusted as needed. Each leg is capped with a spiral-textured grip made of rubber for preventing skids and slips on the terrain. The collapsing mechanism is completely silent for stealthy hunting experiences.
Performance – The CVLIFE 6-9 Inches Tactical Rifle Bipod is one of the best picatinny rail bipods for hunting purposes. Of course, it’s suitable for other purposes as well, but it was designed for ultra quiet use and adjustable shock absorption. Speaking of shock absorption, we love the ability to adjust the tension on the metal springs. This means you could use it with a variety of ammo, and even perhaps slugs. The remaining features on this picatinny rail bipod are pretty standard. Our one complaint is that we don’t really like the button used for extending the legs. We believe this was to enhance the silent design, but an adjustment know would be more accurate. It also doesn’t swivel.
What we say – The CVLIFE 6-9 Inches Tactical Rifle Bipod costs around $70 online. We’ve surpassed the “budget buy” prices at this point, but this is a reasonable price for the level of quality that comes with this bipod.

The legs extend from 5 inches to 9 inches, and are reinforced with T7075 aluminum. The cant can be adjust by 15 degrees both forwards and backwards and left to right. The legs are capped with rubber grips for rocky terrain. There is even additional rubber gripping in strategic areas, such as around the base of the legs, below the adjustment knobs, and under the picatinny rail mount. The Accu-Shot Atlas Bipod collapses easily for transportation.
Performance – The Accu-Shot Atlas Bipod is a very well-known picatinny rail bipod, and it comes in a variety of styles for everyone’s needs a shooting purposes. It’s also pretty expensive, but we’ll get to that later. We chose this fairly standard model because we think most buyers would be happy with a 5-9 inch leg extension. Accu-Shot provides some of the sturdiest and most reliable bipods on the market, and the extra reinforced aluminum construction guarantees you’ll have accurate and precise shots. Although it doesn’t swivel, it allows for just enough cant adjustment for when you’re acquiring your target. It’s really hard to go wrong with these babies.
What we say – This Accu-Shot Atlas Bipod costs about $320 online – ouch. It’s a steep price for a bipod, but if you have the cash to spend on this, you should definitely make the investment. It’s a serious picatinny rail bipod for serious shooters.

Our Favorite Picatinny Rail Bipod
Our top pick goes to the UTG Low-Profile Deluxe Universal Picatinny Bipod. This option combines the best of both worlds: a low cost and the most important features needed in a bipod. At only around $30, you get a good bang for your buck. While the aluminum construction is pretty basic, we really like the steel additions to it – especially the curved feet. This feature is perfect for hunting, particularly if you’re shooting from a high view or vice versa. Having the ability to adjust the cant and use a swivel mount means you’ll have to readjust very little while you’re focusing in on your target. We did complain about the steel feet lacking any rubber grips, but placing something under them, such as a blanket or piece of fabric, is a possible solution to this. You could also always invest a few extra bucks and attach your own rubber grips as well. The UTG Low-Profile Deluxe Picatinny Bipod is a great buy for bargain-hunters and anyone who appreciates a quality bipod from a reliable brand.
