The Glock 26 is a subcompact pistol that has been part of the Glock company since 1994. With over twenty years on the market, this pistol is a go-to for law enforcement backup, home defense, self defense, and the small size makes it favorable with women too. With self defense in mind, you might want to attach a flashlight. We’ve put together this review of the best Glock 26 lights on the market, and we’ll pick our favorite at the end.
There’s one small issue with finding the right light attachment: the original Glock 26 doesn’t have an accessory rail. While there are plenty of other accessories (click here for sights) available, it is near impossible to find a light that was made for the Glock 26. If you have the Gen 4, you’re in good luck. Three of the options here are compatible with Gen 4s, and there is only one option available for the original Glock 26. With that in mind, these are all great flashlight attachments. We saved you some time wasted digging around online, and you can pick your favorite of the bunch here.
Materials – This first option from Aimkon is one that will only fit the Glock 26 Gen 4. In fact, it’s a quick release light as well. It easily attaches to your Glock and you won’t struggle to take it off again, if you need to remove it quickly. It has two modes: steady strobe and constant on. The beam is a 500 lumen light powered by a CR2 battery. The housing is made of a lightweight aluminum that is durable but won’t add weight to your handgun. It is weather proof against wind, rain, or other moisture and dust in the air.
Performance – Our first selection certainly had some pros and cons to it. For one, it is the least expensive out of the four we chose. It’s also one of very few light accessory options out there that has quick detach capabilities. It’s easy enough to install or uninstall, and it’s fairly universal for subcompacts. At least you’re getting your money’s worth and you can utilize it on multiple weapons if you wanted to. It is surprisingly also one of a few options with such a powerful light. 500 lumens is a lot to come out of a small light, but it also has a more powerful battery than some of the others. While lightweight aluminum is a plus, and it can protect the inner technology well, it’s not the most durable technology on the market per say.
What we say – The Aimkon HiLight is the best Glock 26 light for those who want a low cost, a quick detach mount, and think 500 lumens will really come in handy for them.
- Lowest cost
- Quick Detach
- Powerful light lumens
- Aluminum housing not the strongest
- The 500 Lumen LED(CREE XM-L2) is two times brighter than most other reasonably priced handgun...
- 2 Modes: Regular High and Strobe Mode(disorients any possible attacker)
- Has a Quick Release/Attach Mount to make assembling fast and easy in just seconds, without any...
Materials – The LaserTac Pistol Light is a universal mount for all subcompact pistols. Well, all subcompacts with rails. Again, this one is only available as a Gen 4 Glock 26 light. The on and off switch is ambidextrous, and it just needs a quick touch to get it activated. The LED flashlight has an 80 lumen beam power. The batteries are rechargeable, and they are includes with this pistol light. The housing of this flashlight accessory was designed to withstand recoil or impact. However, LaserTac includes a one year warranty with the proof of purchase. The entire construction adds less than two ounces of weight to your subcompact.
Performance – By all means, this is a great light for any subcompact pistol because it’s so light. This is definitely one of the most basic, no fuss Glock 26 lights you can buy. We mean that – 80 lumens is one of the weakest flashlight powers we’ve see for even a Glock accessory. At the same time, you can only pack so much power into a little flashlight. Depending on your needs, you don’t want to pay a high price for features you won’t really use, like an added laser or a higher powered light beam. It’s not a quick detach, but you can easily attach this to the rail of your Gen 4 pistol. Plus, the rechargeable batteries are a good money saver. On the flip side, they won’t last as long.
What we say – This is the best Glock 26 light for Gen 4 models if you truly just want something to occasionally light your way at night. It’s a low cost for minimal needs.
- Very lightweight
- Rechargeable batteries
- One year warranty
- Only 80 lumen light
- Small size and lightweight Tactical Flashlight that specially designed for subcompact handguns...
- 80 Lumens LED Flashlight, comes handy to target at night.
- Ambidextrous on/off switch for either right or left handed;
Materials – This offering from Streamlight is the only option that is compatible with the original Glock 26. It does not need to mount onto a rail system, and it attaches at the trigger guard. Not only is this the only option available on Amazon, but it’s the only light we could find at all that would be compatible with the Glock 26. This option also includes a red laser! So it’s a light and laser combo! The ambidextrous switch offers three modes: laser only, flashlight only, or the laser and flashlight on together. You can even replace the batteries without having to detach the light.
Performance – Well, first and foremost, the big pro here is that if you own the original Glock 26, you can use this flashlight. Even better is that it’s actually a flashlight and laser combo. It’s nice that even though you’re VERY limited on options with the Glock 26, your one flashlight choice includes a laser, and it’s manufactured by a well-known and reliable brand. It’s not quite as light weight as some of the other options available, but it obviously isn’t anything over the top. There could possibly be some issues with the stability, since the light can only attach at the trigger guard. Invest in a trusty holster, and you should be okay.
What we say – This is the best Glock 26 light (and only option, really) for anyone with the original and not a Gen 4 model. You can’t go wrong here, but you really don’t have a choice!
- Fits the original Glock 26
- Laser light combo
- Produced by a reliable brand
- Less stability with no rail attachment
- Designed to securely attach to the trigger guard of the Glock 26/27/33
- C4 LED and a 640-660nm Red laser
- Parabolic reflector produces a balance of beam and peripheral illumination
Materials – Finally, we have one of the more popular handgun lights. The Viridian reactor is, again, only available for the Glock 26 Gen 4 with a rail mount. It also attaches over the trigger guard, so it stays well in place and truly streamlines the look of your subcompact. The flashlight emits a 140 lumen beam of light, and you can select between a constant on or a strobe effect. With constant on, you can get 60 minutes of battery life, and with strobing you can get twice as much battery life. This light’s housing is made from thermos molded polymer, and it weighs less than an ounce.
Performance – As we always do in these reviews, the final option is always the most expensive. Viridian is a great brand to buy lights and lasers from, but be prepared to invest. This option also is not universal, so once it’s on your Glock 26 Gen 4, get your money’s worth and use that baby. In the past, we’ve reviewed the Viridian lasers very frequently, and they usually include an instant on technology with a special holster. That is also the case here! Some people like that, and some people don’t. For subcompacts, it can get a little tricky to find a holster that accommodates a light, so it might save you some time and money by using the holster included. This option also has the most powerful lumens and some of the best battery life. Good job, Viridian.
What we say – This is the best Glock 26 light for the Gen 4 for shooters who want to save money on a holster, and they think they can get good use out of the ECR Instant On technology.
- ECR Instant On Technology
- Includes holster in price
- Strong light power and battery life
- Most expensive option
- RADIANCE TECHNOLOGY: This compact tac pistol light emits up to 140 Lumens of bright light with...
- ECR INSTANT ON: Includes a sleek Instant-On ECR holster. When drawn, the radiance tac light is...
- LIGHT MODES: Choose between 100 lumen constant light and 140 lumen strobe modes
Our Favorite Glock 26 Light
Our favorite Glock 26 light has to go to the Streamlight TLR-6 Tactical Pistol Mount. It really has to, since this is the only one that will actually fit the original. Obviously, if you have the Gen 4, this doesn’t apply to you. For the Gen 4 we would suggest the Viridian Reactor. Back to the Streamlight option! The fact that for a very affordable price you can get both a light and a laser combo is awesome. The battery life is pretty standard and reasonable, but it’s nice that you can replace the batteries without actually removing it from your Glock 26 trigger guard. Streamlight is a great brand for both lights and lasers, so Glock 26 owners really lucked out with receiving an option from a better-known company.
