We frequently discuss the best gun accessories, but we have yet to go over gun lube reviews, and picking the best maintenance products for your firearm is just as important as the firearm itself! AR 15s are a classic weapon that are common among professionals. Having a well-working machine means you need to pick the right AR 15 lube to keep your gun free from internal friction, sand and dust. The best lube for AR15 guns can also be used as a cleaning solvent, on top of general protection.
We’ve compiled the best AR15 lubrication products on the market; and, later, we’ll announce what we think is the best lube for AR15.
Ingredients – Frog Lube CLP (cleanser, lube and protectant) AR15 lube is a non-toxic cleaner and lube made from food-grade ingredients. It can dissolve carbon on contact, and it suspends copper, lead, sand and dirt in gun barrels and other firearm parts. The handy spray bottle can be regularly applied to gun metal, where it will adhere to the pores and create a seasoned layer that is durable and lubricated. Eventually, the gun metal will become saturated, and it will protect your firearm from dust and other particles in the air. It will also stay lubricated, so you won’t always have to apply the Frog Lube CLP.
Performance – The first admirable feature of Frog Lube CLP is the non-toxic, food-grade ingredients, meaning is a safe cleaner for hand and skin contact, and it’s also great to use with or around kids. Unlike AR15 grease, the convenient spray means you aren’t working with petroleum, oil or wax, so this is a lightweight cleaner that won’t clog porous metal. With additional application, this lube AR15 product will create a well-seasoned gun that will need minimal care in the future. Any complaints are on personal preference. This AR 15 lube has a strong, minty smell, and some may not like the how this AR 15 lube leaves a moist residue.
What we say – The main selling point of the Frog Lube CLP AR15 lubrication is the non-toxic chemicals and food-grade ingredients. If you have children at home, or you just like more natural products, you can get an efficient quality and powerful cleaner out of Frog Lube CLP. It costs just under $25 for an 8 fluid ounce bottle, but you’re likely to get a lot of use out of it, since your firearm will require less and less lubrication. This is easily the best AR15 lube for anyone who wants to avoid harsh chemicals.

Ingredients – The M-Pro 7 AR15 lube is made of high-quality synthetic oil and lox additives. Of our gun lube reviews, the M-Pro 7 is one of the most scent-free products you can buy. The M-Pro 7 AR 15 lube can be used as a cleaner, lubricant and protectant. It removes carbon that is both in the bore and that is actually bonded to the firearm. This AR 15 lube has a negatively charged coating that causes carbon particles to repel each other, which then get surrounded within the lubricant and removed from porous metal. The M-pro 7 lube also comes with a convenient tip for distributing lube, instead of acting as an AR15 grease, which is hard to control the amount.
Performance – While the M-Pro 7 has synthetic oils and additives, we do appreciate the scent-free quality. This makes it the best AR lube for using indoors or in close quarters. By providing a deep clean, due to removing any bonded carbon, your AR 15 will become easier to clean over time and will have increased protection from dirt particles. We like the fact that the tip of the M-Pro 7 bottle distributes a controlled amount of lubricant, but some say they don’t think it’s the best lube for AR15 because it won’t fit into tight spaces.
What we say – We think the M-Pro 7 is the best AR15 lube you can get for such a low cost. At around 10 bucks 4 ounce bottle, you’re getting a lot of AR15 lube that should last a while. We would much rather prefer a non-toxic ingredient list, but we can always wash our hands after using it. For almost an entirely scent-free lube, the M-Pro 7 may be the best AR lube you can get for the money.

Ingredients – Hoppe’s No. 9 AR15 lube is one of the most popular and commonly purchased lubricants on the market, and there’s good reason why it’s on our list of gun lube reviews. Hoppe’s No. 9 is made from a blend of synthetic oils specifically designed to work on all areas of your gun, as well as other firearms, fishing reels and mechanisms. Hoppe’s No. 9 has been tested countless times by both factory and law enforcement, and even the smell is sought after by gunowners. Hoppe’s No. 9 protects your AR 15 from rust and corrosion, and it acts as a barrier to water and moisture. Water will roll right off the barrel of your gun, and the AR 15 lubricant halts friction from metal to metal contact.

Although it is not non-toxic, the specially blended synthetic oils create an advanced lubricant that also act as a cleaner and protectant.
