Fixed power scopes are often overlooked, simply because they don’t offer a variety of magnifications like most other scopes do. However, a 4 power scope or higher that is fixed can come in handy if the shooter has a specific task they use it frequently for, whether it be hunting, competitive or tactical. The biggest advantage of fixed power rifle scopes is the ease of use or how little adjustment is really needed. 4x scopes (or higher) are usually very simple in design, since less adjustment knobs are available, making the scope allover lighter and quick to install or switch on guns.
We’ve made a list of our favorite fixed power scopes, starting with 4x scopes, and then working up in power. Later, we’ll announce what we think is the best fixed power scope.
Materials – The Ade Advanced Fixed Power is a 4x tactical scope made of T6 aircraft grade aluminum and has a 32mm objective lens. The lens is multicoated, and it offers red, green and blue illumination with 9 different settings. The reticle is etched into the glass, and the front sight has a red fiber optic for bright and low light levels. The Ade Advanced 4x fixed power scope is only 6 inches long and weighs barely over 1 pound. It comes with two short slot Weaver and Picatinny rails for attaching other accessories, like lights and lasers. It also has ball and bearing adjustments for windage and elevation. Of course, the Ade Advanced Fixed 4x scope is water, fog and shockproof.
Performance – The Ade Advanced 4 power scope has a lot of great qualities in a small package. The short and lightweight fixed power scope is perfect for an AR 15 or Ak 47, and we love the additional Weaver and Picatinny rails for accessories. This 4x scope is perfect for self-defense or combat, and it’s easy to install and uninstall. We did notice that is can take a little more time than we’d like to zero in on targets, and the body doesn’t seem to be as nicely finished as most other scopes. However, for a low price, we’re not necessarily hung up on looks.
What we say – This is definitely in the running for the best 4x scope, especially when on a budget. The Ade Advanced Fixed 4x power scope goes for 80 bucks, which is a decent price for a scope that comes with a little extra. We really appreciate the red, green and blue illumination with multiple settings, and the red fiber optic is the cherry on top of this sundae. If you can get over the “cheaper look” this is easily one of the best fixed power scopes on the market.

Materials – The Tasco Pronghorn is another 4 power scope that has a significantly sleeker look than the previous 4x rifle scope listed: it comes in a matte black finish and is 16 inches long. It only weighs 11 ounces, as well. The 32 mm objective lens is multi-layered and completely coated. Most notable is the magenta-tinted optical for a clear and bright picture. The Tasco Pronghorn 4x rifle scope was designed for hunting in the brush, which requires a short-range magnification as well as fog and moisture protection. Thankfully, it is shock, water and fog proof.
Performance – If we had to guess the cost of the Tasco Pronghorn 4x scopes, we would have assumed it was hundreds of dollars (it’s not). The sleek look of this fixed 4x scope and light weight make it very ideal for heavy-gauged rifles or even slug guns. It’s perfect for hunters who don’t require long-range magnification, but still need a powerful scope that is rugged and durable. The magenta optic coating is one-of-a-kind. Although it is possibly the best 4x scope for the price, the low cost may be more dissuasive than persuasive.
What we say – Of what we have listed, the Tasco Pronghorn is easily the best 4x scope, especially for the cost. This 4x scope costs under $40, which is an amazing bargain for such a nice looking piece. If you’re choosing fixed power scopes for hunting, you may think to first go for a scope that offers multiple magnification powers; but, if you know the majority of your hunting is in the short to mid-ranges, consider the Tasco Pronghorn. It will get the job done, and it’s got a mighty attractive price tag. If you don’t like it, you’re not really losing any money.

Materials – The Weaver K Series fixed rifle scope with a beautiful matte black finish. It’s a single-piece tube made of aircraft grade aluminum, and it comes in at only 9.8 ounces. Weaver is known for a range of fixed power rifle scopes, but this one is a 6x fixed scope and is one of their most popular fixed magnifications. The Weaver K Series fixed scope can take on an impressive amount of recoil, and it is shock proof, waterproof and fogproof. The 38 mm objective lens is multi-coated and has a Dual-X reticle with a ¼ inch adjustment at 100 yards.
Performance – Our favorite feature of the Weaver K Series 6x fixed scope is easily the small size and lightweight. It’s perfect for slow fire competitions or mid-range hunting. The 6x scope has been proven to take on 10,000 rounds of .375 H&H Magnum, so we meant it when we said it’s shock proof! The only complaint is that this fixed power scope is shorter than the others in the K series, so ring extensions have to be installed if you want the proper eye relief.
What we say – To us, small adjustments while installing the Weaver K Series 6x fixed scope is worth it. These fixed power rifle scopes are a little higher in price, costing less than $150, but it’s still a very acceptable cost. The sight is clear and bright, and we think a 6x fixed magnification is perfect for most hunting situations. If you think you’ll use your fixed power scope for dual purposes, than the Weaver K Series 6x scope is a great start for you.

The 40mm objective lens is multicoated with a mil-dot reticle. The Ultra Wide Band Coating increases light transmission and clarity for high magnification. The scope has Rainguard HD anti-fog technology for a waterproof and fog proof lens. The Bushnell Elite Tactical fixed power scope also has fingertip adjustable turrets for re-zeroing after windage and elevation adjustments. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
Performance – The Bushnell Elite Tactical 10x fixed power scope has sniping in mind, and it’s perfect for that. The fixed power, clear sight and durable weatherproof technology make this one of the best fixed power rifle scopes for zeroing in on a target and being ready to shoot at a moment’s notice. We will note that it’s not the best for low light situations, like just before sunrise or after dusk. In any other situation, the Bushnell Tactical Elite performs admirably.
What we say – If you have a specific purpose of sniping or long-range hunting, we fully recommend the Bushnell Elite Tactical 10x fixed scope as your purchase. This scope costs just under $240, which makes it the most expensive scope on our list, but this is still a relatively low cost for a fixed scope. Bushnell is also a very trusted brand name, so the price comes with a guarantee you shouldn’t experience any malfunctions. If you know you won’t normally be using this scope at night, then you can’t go wrong with this purchase.

We can easily say that our top pick for fixed power rifle scopes is the Weaver K Series 6X scope. It’s incredibly short and light, and it’s one of the most durable scopes on the market. The medium magnification makes it perfect for most hunting situations and even some competition. Weaver offers different types of fixed powers, so even if you don’t want 6x, you can still purchase within the trusted brand. The price is perfectly worth the investment, and it’s very unlikely you’ll ever experience any problems with the Weaver K Series.
