The Beretta 92FS is a sleek pistol that is seen amongst many types of shooters. It packs a powerful punch, and its impressive 4.9 inch barrel makes it a larger handgun that is still an ideal size for concealed carry. Of course, even a great pistol needs a little modifying, so we put together this review of the best Beretta 92FS grips we could find on the market. As always, we’ll let you know what our favorite option was at the end.
The original grip on the Beretta 92FS is, by all means, not a bad one. The base is angled for a finger rest, and there is a decent gripping texture of raised bumps. However, it is lacking any type of finger groove, and sweaty palms can turn into slipping fingers on the polymer material. Adding a grip that is either made of rubber or other durable composite materials is a smart solution to these issues. Most shooters will want an improvement on their overall control of the weapon, as well as their performance in accuracy and firing speed. Thankfully, choosing the right grip from our review can make that happen. We chose option from a wide range of price points, so everyone, from our bargain shoppers to our investors, will find something that suits their needs and wants in a grip.
Materials – The Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove for Beretta 92FS is an all black sleeve that’s made of a soft rubber. All you have to do to install the sleeve is to stretch it over your existing Beretta’s original grip. It will hold tight to your handgun, but it’s elastic enough to pull it right off if it ever needs cleaning. There are finger grooves and just enough thickness in the rubber to create some palm swell. The sides of the Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove for Beretta 92FS have ventilated panels, so the material won’t get over heated from your hands. This also helps ensure sweat won’t build up.
Performance – The Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove for Beretta 92FS is our wallet friendly, budget piece that is the more common solution for anyone looking to change their original grip. An elastic, rubber sleeve is a popular style that can be found in the hundreds, but this one is one of our favorites. The main reason is for the ventilation holes on the sides, which are located directly where the center of the palm would be resting. Yes, the part of your hand that gets super sweaty! While this is a perfectly good choice for tactical purposes, this can be a really helpful feature while you’re on the range for an entire afternoon.
What we say – The Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove is the best Beretta 92FS Grip for anyone who doesn’t have a lot of cash to spend and for anyone who spends ling periods of time with their handgun. If you build up a sweat, you’ve found your answer right here.
- Low cost
- Soft rubber very comfortable and flexible
- Ventilated sides
- Not durable for rough, tactical uses
- Fits Beretta 92 FS, M9, PX4 Storm
- Custom molded to fit used by Police and FBI
- Ideal for polymer or steel framed handguns
Materials – The Hogue Beretta 92/96 Series Grip is a wraparound grip made of a firm rubber material, which is intended to absorb recoil during use. It can be purchased in three shades of color: desert tan, olive drab green, and pink. While this is not a grip that can be stretched and slid onto the original grip, installation only requires a few screws. There are finger grips as well as a cobblestone textured pattern for gripping to the palm. This is a low key grip for gunowners requiring a small increase in performance. Palm swell is minimal because it does not cover the rear of your Beretta’s original grip – only the sides.
Performance – Although the Hogue Beretta 92/96 Series Grip is another option made with rubber, this material is far more firm and less elastic than the Pachmayr model. This is great for reducing the recoil power and helping the shooter maintain control for multiple shots. It won’t easily slide on and off your handgun, but this is a very basic installation that anyone is capable of. Honestly, our biggest complaint is that there is no black option available. We believe most buyers would want black over tan, green, or pink. Nonetheless, we really like the combination of finger grooves, grip texture, and material used to increase and allover performance.
What we say – The Hogue Beretta 92/96 Series Grip is the best choice for gunowners needing to improve on their control, when it comes to their recoil and accuracy. This is also still a very affordable option.
- Easy installation
- Reduces recoil
- Nice grip texture
- No black option available
- Fits: beretta 92F, 92FS, 92g, 92D, Centurian, 96D, M9
- Recoil absorbing rubber
- Finger grooves
Materials – The Recover Tactical BC2 Grip and Rail System is a very unique combination of both a grip and tactical rail under the barrel. The construction is made of polymer, and it is available to purchase in three colors: black, green, and tan. The set consists of two pieces, which are placed over your Beretta like a cover. Installation requires a few more steps than with a normal grip modification, but the installation is not permanent, nor does it call for a gunsmith or professional help. There are no finger grooves on this grip and rail system, but there is a set of raised dots to increase the overall grip.
Performance – The Recover Tactical BC2 Grip and Rail System is certainly a unique option, and we could certainly see why some would be very interested in this grip and rail combo. In all honesty, we are not huge fans of the fact the two pieces in the set essentially create a shell around the handgun; however, it saves the buyer money by combining two mod accessories in one, and it didn’t seem to interfere with the performance of our Beretta when we tested it out. We have to give credit where credit is due: the grip texture is very solid, and the polymer construction is durable for tactical use.
What we say – The Recover Tactical BC2 Grip and Rail System is the best Beretta 92FS grip for someone looking for the best bang for their buck and thinks they would really utilize the rail system with a light or laser.
- Combines a rail and a grip
- Polymer construction is good for tactical use
- Protects almost entire handgun
- Can seem bulky or unecessary
- Easiest way to add a rail to your Beretta
- Easy installation. No gunsmith or permanent modifications required
- High quality Polymer will not break or damage your gun
Materials – The VZ Grips 92 Tactical Slants is a very high quality grip made of durable and firm G10. G10 is a composite of multiple layers of both glass cloth and epoxy resin. This creates an indestructible grip. This option is available in five color selections: black, black gray, desert sand, hyena brown, and predator green. Installation is simple, requiring only a few screws in place. There are no finger grooves on this Beretta 92FS grip, but it does feature a set of raised bumps on either side. They were designed in a diagonal pattern to alleviate the harsh feel of straight raised bumps on the shooter’s palms.
Performance – VZ Grips is a well known brand for producing some very high quality grip modifications, so this option is completely different from the rest within this review. The main difference is the materials used; the glass and epoxy combo performs well as a very durable and long lasting grip. The innovative grip texture provides the same level of grip as raised bumps, but it is noticeably more comfortable to hold. Our only wish is that this option had finger grooves. The design is sleek and low profile, and it would look lovely on a Beretta 92FS.
What we say – The VZ Grips 92 Tactical Slants is the best option for competitors and tactical shooters. The durable construction will see you through years of shooting. However, this option is significantly more expensive than the rest, so it has to be a worthwhile investment to the right buyer.
- Tough glass and epoxy construction
- Innovative grip texture
- Sleek design
- Very expensive
- TEXTURE: Medium / Comfortable
- USE: Tactical, Range, Competition
- MATERIAL: G10
Our Favorite Beretta 92FS Grip
Our favorite Beretta 92FS grip was the Hogue Beretta 92/96 Series Grip. This may seem a little shocking, for those who were intrigued by the VZ Grip selection we put in this review, but the Hogue model satisfied many important factors at an affordable cost. The firm, rubber grip is durable enough to withstand a little roughhousing, but it was soft enough to absorb recoil and be comfortable to hold. Installation was incredibly simplistic, and it was capable of increasing the allover performance of the shooter without interfering with palm swell or accuracy. Sure, there was no black option available when we tested it out, but the design is still fairly low profile (unless you are dying to have the pink option, of course)! Whether you’re on a budget or not, the Hogue Beretta 92/96 Series Grip is a fantastic modification choice to consider.
