On 3 Oct 06, the military judge at Fort Lewis, WA, favorably ruled that the government had proven during the Daubert Hearing that both firearm examiners were qualified as experts and could testify in regards to the science. This was a two day hearing in which three independent firearm examiners were hired by the defense in an attempt to discredit the testimony and/or science.
